Description

Rare British Six-Pounder Anti-Tank Gun Sight Telescope

Marked ‘WWII TEL. SIGNTG No.22D Mk I’

An original British World War II TEL. SIGNTG No.22D Mk I sighting telescope, manufactured by H.B.M. Co. and issued for use with the standard 6-pounder anti-tank gun. Of brass and steel construction, the scope retains its original finish and is clearly marked with designation, maker’s details, and the British broad arrow acceptance mark. The instrument features internal crosshairs incorporating an ‘R’ lead indicator for engaging moving targets, together with an extending sun shield, reflecting its practical battlefield application. Showing notable age-related wear consistent with service use, this scarce optical instrument represents an important component of Britain’s wartime anti-tank defences and is a highly collectible piece of military equipment.

Clocks, Mantle clocks, music boxes, and other similar items may require service after transportation and are sold as decorative pieces. Please note, whilst clocks currently work, during transport, all clocks are moved around a lot, and therefore, they may require setting up upon receiving them, as well as the possibility of requiring professional assistance or service, as they can get ‘stuck’. There is no guarantee that the clock will work smoothly after it has been transported. Leans Gallery does not guarantee any barometers, clocks, or music boxes to be in working order.
