A powerful and expressive modern abstract painting by Spate Huntermann, titled Mother & Child. Executed in acrylic on board, the composition explores the universal theme of maternal connection through bold colour, rhythmic line, and layered texture. Fragmented forms and flowing passages of paint suggest intimacy and protection, while the vibrant palette brings emotional depth and movement to the work.

Huntermann was a respected British artist, serving as President of the United School of Artists (2005–2008), and was closely associated with the Dorking Group of Artists and Suffolk Open Studios. He was also a highly regarded portrait artist working in Cornwall. This work is signed lower right and bears the artist’s label verso.
