Elegant Marie Antoinette Style Mantle Clock

This exquisite mantle clock, inspired by the opulence and sophistication of Marie Antoinette’s era, is a beautiful re-creation of a French 18th-century lyre clock, commissioned exclusively by The Victoria & Albert Museum in London. It seamlessly blends timeless elegance with expert craftsmanship, making it a stunning decorative piece and a functional timepiece for any refined space.
The body of the clock is made from fine cobalt blue porcelain, fired to achieve a rich, lustrous finish that draws the eye. Hand-painted details with 22-carat gold accents add an air of regal luxury, while over sixty sparkling Austrian crystals are meticulously set by hand, offering a delicate touch of brilliance.
At its heart is a finely crafted eight-day key-wound movement, encased in solid brass and adorned with 22-carat gold embellishments. The movement, designed by the renowned German clockmaker Franz Hermle, ensures precision and reliability, reflecting the quality for which the Hermle name is known.
The clock’s dial, measuring 8 cm in diameter, is a work of art in itself, featuring both Zodiac symbols and a blend of Roman and Arabic numerals. This adds a unique character to the piece, marrying the mystique of ancient astrology with the practical functionality of timekeeping.
This mantle clock not only captures the grandeur of a bygone era but also stands as a symbol of refined taste, making it a perfect addition to any home or collection that celebrates history, beauty, and craftsmanship.
Height 39 x 17 cm wide
