Description

Pair of Royal Worcester Gilt Porcelain Figures holding an orb by James Hadley, Late 19th / Early 20th Century

An elegant Royal Worcester porcelain figure, model number 1441, finely modelled by the AA fine and elegant pair of Royal Worcester porcelain figures, exquisitely modelled by the celebrated sculptor James Hadley, dating to the late 19th / early 20th century. Each figure stands approximately 26 cm tall and is finished in a rich and lustrous gilt glaze, characteristic of Royal Worcester’s highest-quality decorative output.

The figures depict classical female forms in flowing drapery, captured in graceful, animated poses. One figure gestures upward in an expressive movement, while the other holds a gilded orb, creating a harmonious and balanced pairing. The finely modelled faces, naturalistic anatomy, and beautifully detailed drapery demonstrate Hadley’s mastery of form and Royal Worcester’s exceptional craftsmanship.

Inspired by neoclassical ideals, these figures reflect the taste of the Victorian and Edwardian periods, when classical antiquity strongly influenced decorative arts. The contrast between the soft ivory porcelain flesh tones and the opulent gilding enhances their sculptural presence and visual impact.

A highly decorative and collectable pair, ideal for collectors of Royal Worcester, English porcelain, or classical revival sculpture, and well-suited for display in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
