Antique Watercolour Painting- Thomas Charles Barfield (1858 – 1927)
Beautifully executed watercolour by the renowned artist and sculptor, depicting a village scene of Villagers in conversation with a travelling Monk. The painting is signed and dated July 1892 at the bottom right. The painting is mounted and glazed within a gilt frame.
The artist studied at Leicester School of Art and in Antwerp, he was the chief art Lecturer to the Leicester County Council. He has also exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts and other institutions.
