A refined Victorian Parian ware sculpture depicting a graceful classical female figure draped in flowing robes, finely modelled in the neoclassical taste popular during the nineteenth century. The figure stands in a contemplative pose with one hand resting gently beneath the chin while the other gathers the folds of her drapery, conveying a quiet elegance and poise.
The sculpture is executed in Parian porcelain, prized during the Victorian period for its soft, marble-like surface that successfully emulated carved classical marble sculptures. The delicate modelling of the facial features, anatomical proportions, and the naturalistic folds of the drapery demonstrate the high level of craftsmanship associated with English Parian production.
