Wonderful Tapestry in the Gobelins style and includes a multitude of magnificent col-ours, subtle yet properly incorporated to bring out the beautiful scenery. Fully lined and surrounded by a beautiful acanthus border. The colours are mainly neutral: greys, ec-rus, and beiges, except for different shades of peach which are used on clothing and flowers.
It is a charming scene of a young Nobleman and a young lady passing a pleasant time in the woodlands with an attendant tying the shoe, lovely details. Includes the rod and tassels.
Based on COURTLY SCENES by François Boucher (1703 – 1770), who has been the official painter of Louis XVth, King of France, in 1765. “Point Jacquard” weave – Tapisserie Metrax / Craye – XVIII-XIX centuries tapestry. The size is approximately 92 cm” in length by 54 cm in height without the rod – a good size for any home/office.
