An Engraving, John Buckland-Wright (1897-1954), Judgement of Paris
A rare and exceptional engraving by John Buckland-Wright, titled “Judgement of Paris” (1950). “The Judgement of Paris” – Limited Edition Etching
A finely executed limited-edition etching, titled “The Judgement of Paris”, depicting the classical myth in which Paris, prince of Troy, is asked to choose the fairest among the goddesses Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite.
Rendered in delicate linework with exquisite control and clarity, the composition captures the timeless grace of the three figures, elegantly posed within a richly detailed natural setting. The artist’s sensitive approach highlights both the harmony of form and the mythological symbolism associated with beauty and choice.
This print is hand-titled and numbered in pencil beneath the image, and also bears the artist’s monogram or initials at the lower right. The work is presented mounted and framed under glass in a simple oak frame with a cream mount, complementing the refined classical subject.
