Music Box, Rare 19th Century, Miniature Mechanical Grand Piano shape, Rosewood
This exquisite rare European miniature mechanical music model of a square grand piano is a true masterpiece of craftsmanship. Constructed in high-quality rosewood, it features a functioning fold board, lid, and music rack, as well as keys carved in bone and ebonised wood. The internal Swiss Lador of Saint Croix movement is manual-wound and incorporated into the underside of the piano.
Measuring 31.3 cm in width, 16 cm in height, and 14.5 cm in depth, this miniature piano is a stunning example of 19th-century craftsmanship. While it shows some wear with age, the exterior is in relatively good condition, with only small losses to the internal veneer and a minor split in one hinged section, which are insignificant considering its age.
This rare and collectible piece is a must-have for any music lover, antique enthusiast, or collector of unique and intricate mechanical models. Its intricate details, craftsmanship, and historical significance make it a true treasure that will be cherished for generations to come.
