John Buckland-Wright (1897-1954) – Judgement of Paris
A rare and exquisite engraving by John Buckland-Wright, titled and dated “Judgement of Paris” (1950). This beautiful piece is one of only 15 prints, numbered 2/15, and features the artist’s signature studio stamp on the verso. The engraving is printed on wove paper with full margins and measures 21 x 29 cm. It is framed to 50 x 44 cm. The plate was printed by C H Welsh, London, and is dated circa 1944. According to Christopher Buckland-Wright, this is the 4th and finest version of the subject, with three other versions being inferior. This piece is a true masterpiece of 20th-century engraving and would be a stunning addition to any art collection.
