A late 19th-century German cottage scene. A peaceful scene of a mother feeding a child while the older sibling looking on and a third sleeping baby in a cradle.
Beautifully painted and framed in gilt, signed at lower right Brauen H. Painting acquired from Germany some time ago.
Painting in excellent condition, some craquelure is seen, and effects of ageing visible. There are some marks and chips on the frame, the painting is well executed and in good condition, appropriate to its age.
