A finely executed late 19th-century German oil on canvas depicting a tender domestic cottage interior. The composition shows a mother seated at a small table feeding a young child while an older sibling looks on attentively, with a third infant peacefully asleep in a cradle nearby. Warm, subdued lighting and earthy tones create an intimate atmosphere characteristic of German genre painting of the period, evoking themes of maternal care and rural family life. The work is signed at the lower right “H. Brauen.” Presented in an ornate period-style gilt frame. The painting remains in excellent condition with stable craquelure and age-appropriate patina; the frame shows minor chips and marks consistent with age.
