Description
A 19th/20th Century Gilt Bronze Rococo Tazza & French Empire Style Reproduction Table Centre piece.
This exquisite French lost wax casting gilt bronze tazza is a true masterpiece of craftsmanship, blending the ornate beauty of Rococo style with meticulous attention to detail. The tazza features a stunning design with an oval dish bowl, adorned with musical cherubs that sit gracefully on a serpent-entwined column. The column rests on a richly decorated, domed base, which showcases intricate leaf and scroll patterns, and is embellished with striking lion masks.
Every inch of this tazza reflects the skill of the artisan. The shell-shaped tazzas are beautifully enhanced with two expressive masks, connected by garlands, lending a sense of playfulness and elegance. The centre piece of the cup features two charming putti playing tiny cymbals, their dolphin-tailed figures serving as handles that add a unique touch to the piece.
The column itself is adorned with coiled snakes and a delicate pearl pattern, creating a refined contrast to the lively motifs above. The base, shaped like a diamond, boasts richly carved lions’ heads and coats of arms on each side. These are accompanied by finely hand-chiselled flowers and flowing scrollwork, bringing a sense of regal grandeur to the design.
The interplay between the matte finishes and glossy gold details highlights every intricate element, making the masks, putti, serpents, ribbons, flowers, and wreaths come alive in their shimmering splendour. This tazza is not only a symbol of artistic excellence but also a testament to the luxurious elegance of Rococo design, perfect for collectors or anyone looking to add a touch of timeless beauty to their decor.
