Description
Oil Painting of a Noble Lady in a Victorian Dress
This exquisite oil painting on canvas, laid on board and framed, is a beautiful and well-executed portrait of a noblelady in a Victorian dress. The painting is unsigned, but its style and technique suggest that it was created during the Victorian era.
The subject of the painting bears a striking resemblance to Adelina Patti, the famous opera singer, as depicted by Franz Winterhalter in 1860 (now displayed in Harewood House, West Yorkshire, in the Yellow Drawing Room). The painting’s attention to detail, colour palette, and overall composition are all reminiscent of Winterhalter’s work.
The painting is framed and measures [insert dimensions]. The frame has some chip-pings, as seen in the pictures, but the painting itself is in excellent condition.
