The front is mounted with brass crossed rifles, flanked by two stars and the applied number “24,” denoting battalion designation. Above the insignia sits a red and grey cockade surmounted by a vivid red pom-pom, providing a striking contrast to the dark felt body. Ventilation eyelets are present on the sides, and the overall form retains its strong cylindrical profile characteristic of the 1898 pattern.
The condition shows age-related wear consistent with service and storage, adding authenticity and character. A fine and evocative example of Swiss military heritage, suitable for collectors of militaria, uniform history, or European military artefacts.
